Danny Gabbidon has criticised Keylor Navas after Nottingham Forest suffered a heartbreaking 2-1 defeat in the Premier League.
Steve Cooper’s side failed to preserve their 1-0 lead given to them by Danilo with a strike in the 46th minute, conceding twice in the final ten minutes to hand Brentford all three points.
As Nottingham Forest fell to their 18th Premier League defeat of the season, Gabbidon took aim at Navas for his part in both of Brentford‘s goals.
What’s the story?
Well, the Welshman – who was commentating on the game for BBC Radio 5 Live – said: “Navas again, is standing on that front post and he’s beaten again. Maybe questions can be asked of the goalkeeper.”
It must be said – for a player of the Costa Rica international’s vast experience – he has to be doing better with the efforts from Ivan Toney and Josh Dasilva.

Navas was beaten at his near post by the latter in the 94th minute to throw away a precious point for Nottingham Forest – in fairness, there were a few bodies in front of him, but you would expect better.
The 36-year-old also got a glove to Toney’s 82nd minute freekick before it squirmed into the net.
For a goalkeeper with three Champions League titles and 110 caps for Costa Rica to his name, Nottingham Forest fans presumably would have expected Navas to keep at least one of those shots out.
Nottingham Forest in big trouble
Cooper’s side really, really needed to defend their 1-0 lead and take all three points today, as their remaining four fixtures are not the easiest.
Nottingham Forest face Southampton, which is, in fairness, winnable, although clashes against Chelsea, Arsenal and Crystal Palace follow that encounter with the Saints.
As things stand, Nottingham Forest sit 17th in the Premier League, one point ahead of Leicester in 18th albeit having played a game more.
Therefore, Cooper has a huge task on his hands to preserve his side’s Premier League status.
