Everton have a new manager who will be hoping to inspire an under-performing summer signing.
New Everton manager Sam Allardyce has wasted little time bringing the feel-good factor back to Goodison Park, but that does not mean he dos not have a tough job ahead of him.
Among his initial tasks will be to get some of the club’s under-performing players firing on all cylinders, with summer signing Sandro Ramirez one such example.
The Spaniard arrived at Everton with a big reputation after scoring 16 goals in 31 appearances for Malaga last time out. Unfortunately, Sandro is yet to find his form on Merseyside, with just one goal in 13 games.
That said, if anyone can get the best out of the forward it is Allardyce, who motivates like few others in the game and who has experience of coaching some of the biggest talents – and egos – in the game.
During his time at Bolton Wanderers, Allardyce attracted Jay-Jay Okocha, Youri Djorkaeff and Fernando Hierro to the Trotters, and he was rewarded with some scintillating football.
If Sandro does some research into his new manager’s achievements, and knuckles down on the training field, there is no reason why he cannot excel at Everton given a little more time.
Talk has inevitably turned to his January exit but Allardyce may have other ideas and that can only bode well for the player and the club.
