Clermont Foot have begun exploring a deal to sign Komnen Andric from Dinamo Zagreb as the Ligue 1 side prepare for the possible exit of West Ham transfer target Mohamed Bayo.
That’s according to Le10 Sport, who report the Gabriel Montpied Stadium side are eager to strengthen their attacking options. Pascal Gastien’s side are just 15th in the table after 22 games, only two-points clear of the relegation play-off spot that FC Metz currently occupy.
Scoring goals has been an issue for Les Lanciers so far this season, with Bayo hitting nine of their 22. Only Elbasan Rashani has also found the net multiple times to date with his four.
Clermont acknowledge that Bayo could now leave the club before the winter sales shut on Monday. So, Gastien’s side are exploring a deal to lure Andric from Dinamo Zagreb in case the 23-year-old departs. The central France outfit admire Andric for his physical presence.
Andric may prove an obtainable goal for Les Lanciers in a late window deal as his contract expires in 2023. Dinamo Zagreb will show resistance to his exit, however, having hit seven goals in 21 games so far this season. Five of his strikes so far have come in the Prva HNL.

Clermont Foot agreeing a deal with Dinamo Zagreb for Andric – who failed to score against West Ham in the Europa League group stage – may now help David Moyes find a backup to Michail Antonio by freeing Bayo to leave the Gabriel Montpied Stadium in a late transfer.
Reports by Le10 Sport last month noted the Irons contacted Les Lanciers to discuss Bayo’s availability. Gastien’s side were, and still are, reluctant to sell the Guinea forward. But they will find it impossible to reject €20m (£17m) offers, while his AFCON ended on Wednesday.
Clermont Foot signing Andric from Dinamo Zagreb could also remove their desire for West Ham to agree to send Bayo back on loan for the rest of the season in any January transfer.
