Arsenal look set to sign Leandro Trossard.
Fabrizio Romano has stated that this deal is moving very quickly, and it may not be long before the Belgian is officially unveiled as an Arsenal player.
It’s unknown how much this transfer is worth, but given that Brighton’s asking price for the player this month has been around £25m, we have to imagine that we’re talking about a fee in that sort of ballpark.
Now, what makes a £25m move for Trossard interesting at this juncture is the fact that Arsenal had previously committed to a deal worth £80m for Mykhaylo Mudryk.
It doesn’t take a mathematician to realise that there is quite the discrepancy between those two fees, and if Arsenal’s budget for the Mudryk deal was in fact £80m, they should have around £55m leftover after signing Trossard.

Of course, there’s no saying that Arsenal are going to go out and spend that money this month, but, it would make a lot of sense if they did.
Think about it, if you’re top of the league by eight points and chasing down your first title in 19 years, you’re not likely to leave that amount of cash burning a hole in your pocket, are you?
Arsenal have capital to spend, and there really is no time like the present for the Gunners.
There are clear areas of the squad that need addressing too. The north London club are apparently keen on a left-sided centre-back and a new defensive midfielder, and one big-money addition in either of those areas could give Mikel Arteta’s side the extra dynamic needed to go on and secure the Premier League title.
Arsenal can’t leave any avenue unexplored as they hunt down the title, and with Arsenal likely to have a lot of money leftover after going for Trossard as their Mudryk alternative, don’t be surprised if they have an even bigger signing up their sleeve.
