After registering interest in bringing the Belgian to St James’ Park on loan in the summer (Chronicle Live), Newcastle United should look to bring in Michy Batshuayi in January as the ideal post-takeover signing.

With his pace, strength and excellent link-up play, Batshuayi would offer an upgrade to Dwight Gayle – if the Magpies can convince the Belgian to leave his role as the Premier League champions’ back up striker, whilst allowing Newcastle to offload at least one striker and free up wages for further January signings.
