Arsenal now face competition for the signing of Sassuolo star Gianluca Scamacca, with AC Milan now interested in the Italian international.

According to CalcioMercato, the European giants are eyeing a move for the 23-year-old striker once Milan complete the signing of Divock Origi, who is set to join from Liverpool this summer on a free transfer.

As per the report, the signing for the Belgian international is almost done, with the finer details of the transfer currently being ironed out as Origi looks set to depart Liverpool for Milan on a four-year contract.

Once that transfer is complete, Milan will shift their attention to Scamacca, who is wanted by Arsenal after a breakout season with Sassuolo which has seen the 23-year-old catch the attention of some huge clubs in Europe.

The Gunners and Borussia Dortmund have been linked, as have Tottenham and Newcastle United according to FC Inter News, with Sassuolo open to selling their star striker this summer for €40m (£34m).

Indeed, with Scamacca lighting up Serie A this season with his ‘fearless’ performances and looking like a real candidate to lead the Italian national team for some time, it makes sense why Milan are now interested in the youngster, much to the dismay of Arsenal.

Scamacca will be one of the top names to keep an eye on this summer, with the striker showing the quality and glimpses of potential to be a superstar for years to come, and for Milan, they could beat Arsenal to the youngster.

After all, Milan are one of the top sides in Europe and will likely play in the UEFA Champions League again next season, and with the finances to make the deal possible, Arsenal could get blown away by the Rossoneri for Scamacca.
