The agent of Stabaek midfielder Emil Bohinen has told Calciomercato that a deal could be agreed for a cut-price £1.8 million after Leeds United held talks with the Norway U21 international.
When Victor Orta finally drags himself off from the bathroom floor and locates those designer specs, we are sure he will be nursing the headache by doing what he does best – scouring the market for unpolished, uncut gems.
Leeds’ director of football has made a career out of locating under-the-radar and underappreciated young talents from some of Europe’s untapped markets, luring promotion-winning heroes Gianni Alioski, Mateusz Klich and Ilan Meslier to Elland Road over the last three years.
Bohinan, a 21-year-old dynamo who plies his trade back home in Norway, is about as typical an Orta signing as it is possible to imagine.
Budstikka report that Leeds have held talks with the fresh-faced son of former Blackburn and Nottingham Forest ace Lars, with the ever-reliable Yorkshire Evening Post backing up those claims back in January.
Bohinen also has admirers in France and Italy but, while his next destination remains a mystery, it seems that Stabaek will be powerless to prevent the departure of the Scandinavian starlet.

“I prefer not to mention the names of the teams, but I can confirm that several Italian clubs have shown interest in Bohinen” said Stein Hoff of a midfielder who produced four goals and eight assists for Stabaek last season.
“Is the price tag around 2 million euros (£1.8m)? With the economic crisis that followed (the global heath crisis), that could also be enough.
“Considering Emil’s qualities, I think he could adapt well to Serie A. He is young and improves every day, and he can do well in both a technical and physical championship.”
A forward thinking and energetic central midfielder, Bohinen also looks a good fit for a Marcelo Bielsa team who, for all their qualities, would benefit from some extra attacking thrust in the middle of the park.
