Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has told HeraldScotland that Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard is one of the best players in the Scottish Premiership.
Gerrard made the comments about the Celtic striker while analysing Jack Simpson’s performance for Rangers at Ibrox on Sunday.
With Filip Helander and Leon Balogun missing the Old Firm derby due to injury, Rangers manager Gerrard decided to draft Simpson into the starting lineup.
While analysing the performance of the 24-year-old English defender, Gerrard said that Celtic striker Edouard is one of the best players, as his side won 4-1 to maintain their unbeaten run in the league this season.
Gerrard told HeraldScotland: “He had a couple of moments within the game. We’ll analyse his performance and so will he, because he’s a kid who wants to get better.
“I thought he did a lot of things well. He was up against one of the best players in the league in Edouard, who gets assisted well by Elyounoussi and Turnbull. It was a tough challenge for him.”

Big player for Celtic
Rangers have been the best team in the Scottish Premiership this season, and some of their players have been absolutely superb.
Celtic have had a torrid campaign, but one player who has done relatively well is 23-year-old striker Edouard.
According to WhoScored, the French striker has scored 16 goals and provided three assists in the Scottish Premiership and scored two goals in the Europa League for Celtic this season.
