Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with another Charlton Athletic youngster.

According to a report from the Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs interested in signing Charlton Athletic’s Ezri Konsa this summer, and after missing out on Ademola Lookman last season, Spurs should go all out to ensure they snatch the latest Addicks sensation ahead of North London rivals Arsenal.

Tottenham had been linked with Lookman by the Express prior to his January switch to Everton, and such has been the youngster’s early impact at the Toffees and, most notably, for England’s under-20 World Cup winning side, that Spurs should be kicking themselves for not securing a deal ahead of their top flight rivals.

Now Tottenham are said to be eyeing another Charlton graduate in the form of defender Konsa and given his versatility and his breakthrough last season, Spurs cannot let their fierce rivals Arsenal beat them to the punch.

At first glance, Tottenham do not need any more defenders, but Konsa can play in a number of different positions, excelling at centre-back, right-back and in central midfield for Charlton last season.

Still young enough to accept he would have to be patient for chances if he were to move to the Premier League this summer, Konsa is the latest in an impressive line of talents emerging from The Valley, with both Lookman and Joe Gomez expected to be stars for club and country in the years ahead.

Konsa could join them on that list, and Tottenham should act fast, even if it means allowing the player to move back to Charlton on loan next season in an attempt to one-up the Gunners.
