Leeds defender Pontus Jansson helped the Whites to another win.

Leeds United eased to a win over Rotherham on Monday, winning 3-0 at Elland Road.

The match was notable for the milestone which it passed, the 20th game which Pontus Jansson has played for the club.

Leeds now have a chance to sign Jansson permanently from Torino, as per conditions of his loan deal which was agreed back in August.

Jansson’s first message after playing in the victory was a simple one.

The Yorkshire Evening Post report Leeds can sign Jansson permanently for £3.6 million.

After Leeds’ 1-1 draw against Aston Villa last week in which he scored, the centre-back told BBC Radio Leeds that while he was getting frustrated with constant questions over his future which he has no control over, his New Year’s wish was to sign permanently for the Whites.

Jansson has been outstanding since signing for Leeds, who sit fifth in the Championship. They are seven points off an automatic promotion spot, but have a five point cushion between their placing and seventh position.
