Tottenham Hotspur youngster Josh Onomah had a performance to forget against Liverpool in midweek in the EFL Cup.
He was poor in the 2-1 win and was blasted by his own supporters, with many taking to Twitter to lambast the teenager.
The 19-year-old did not feature in the weekend’s game against Leicester, but head coach Mauricio Pochettino did name him among the substitutes.

Young teammate Harry Winks did get on for the closing minutes, but he was always considered above Onomah in the recent pecking order after featuring in a Champions League game against CSKA Moscow.
Tottenham do have injury issues at present, while Moussa Sissoko was suspended, but if Pochettino was really angry with Onomah after midweek, he would have left him out entirely and found another player to make up the 18 instead.

Among those left out entirely was Tom Carroll, who was substituted early against Liverpool, and may have had his last chance under Mauricio Pochettino, failing to impress, or even young striker Shayon Harrison could have been selected as an alternative.
Onomah is young enough that his Anfield performance will be put down to a learning curve, and while Pochettino has shown at times he can be ruthless as a head coach, he seems like he is not over reacting to the youngster’s struggle to make an impact.
