Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly keen on Sunderland’s Josh Maja.

Tottenham Hotspur should be in the market for a striker after losing Harry Kane to injury, but they are unlikely to break the bank in doing so.
Spurs have lost Kane until March with ankle ligament damage, and a League One forward has been linked with making the step up.
The Express report that Spurs are interested in signing Sunderland ace Josh Maja, who is out of contract at the end of the season and may be available in a knock-down deal as a result.
Maja has made it clear that he will be leaving Sunderland this summer, and Spurs will hope that the Londoner is tempted by a return to the capital.
A move for Maja would be very interesting, as it’s just months since Spurs failed to land a forward from Sunderland in Swede Joel Asoro – Maja’s great friend as seen on the Sunderland ‘Til I Die Netflix series.
Asoro told Aftonbladet that he rejected a move to Spurs in favour of joining Swansea City, feeling that he would get more first-team football there than with Tottenham.

Asoro hasn’t made much of an impact though, starting just four Championship games whilst picking up a solitary assist, meaning Spurs won’t feel like they’ve missed out on much just yet.
Conversely, Maja has been tearing it up in League One, scoring 15 goals this season and showing huge potential up top, with Spurs now hoping to develop him under Mauricio Pochettino.
Maja’s goal record this season shows that he may be a better signing than original target Asoro, leaving Spurs to be the big winners if they can secure the 20-year-old’s signature this month.
