Eight players were either sold or released by Sheffield Wednesday in the summer.

Lewis McGugan signed a short-term deal with Northampton Town on Monday, reuniting with Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink little more than a month since the midfielder had his Sheffield Wednesday contract terminated by mutual consent.
But the McGugan isn’t the only ex-Wednesday player to have moved onto pastures new this year – here’s how the rest of them are getting on:
Claude Dielna

The Frenchman signed for MLS side New England Revolution at the end of July and has started nine straight games for the Massachusetts side. Of those he has won three, drawn one and lost the rest by an aggregate score of 19-3.
Urby Emanuelson
Having missed all but one of Wednesday’s games for which he was at the club, the Dutchman is yet to miss one since signing for FC Utrecht back in his homeland. He’s appeared 14 times in total – of which six were Europa League qualifiers.
Darryl Lachman

Also in Holland, having signed permanently with Willem II – the club at which he spent last season on loan. The Curacao international has played every single minute for his new employers this season, but has lost on all but two of his eight outings so far.
Filipe Melo
Though fully fit again, the Portuguese midfielder has made only four appearances for new club Chaves – with 75 per cent of those coming as a substitute.
Vincent Sasso

Further down the Iberian peninsula, in Lisbon, you’ll find the French defender plying his trade with Belenenses. However, after a bright start, Sasso has not appeared in any of the last three fixtures for which he’s been available.
Jose Semedo
The Owls fans’ favourite has picked up where he left off at Hillsborough, making just one substitute appearance for hometown team Vitoria Setubal. It was, however, their only win this season – maybe he is magic after all?
Modou Sougou

Now, officially, the only player yet to find a club since leaving Wednesday.
