After leaving Leeds United – and after a loan spell at Charlton, Jordan Botaka is finally playing regularly.
After a frustrating two year spell at Leeds United, Jordan Botaka is finally getting his career back on track.
Botaka was a deadline day signing in 2015, joining under the then management of Uwe Rosler.
Rosler was promptly fired by Massimo Cellino before Botaka had even started a game.
Steve Evans then took over, and Botaka continued to struggle for first team football. His debut season at Elland Road saw him make only three starts.
He made 13 appearances in total for Leeds and was sent on loan to League One side Charlton last season, but that was little better.
Botaka was used mainly as a substitute and completed 90 minutes only three times.
His contract at Leeds ended in June and his departure barely batted an eyelid, and he made a move to Belgian top flight side Sint-Truiden.
So far everything is looking up for the 24-year-old winger.
He is playing a key role for Sint-Truiden and has featured in all five of their matches this season, making starts in the last three.
Botaka has one assist and his side sit in third place with four wins from five matches.
The DR Congo international might have taken a step down, but being able to play regular football is crucial for his career, and this could be the season he finally fulfils his potential.
