Fabrizio Romano has claimed on Twitter that Borussia Dortmund will not sell reported Liverpool target Jude Bellingham in the summer transfer window.

Eurosport reported earlier this month that Liverpool are among the clubs who are monitoring the 17-year-old midfielder.

Well-known and well-respected journalist Romano, who works for The Guardian and SkySport, has claimed that Dortmund do not want to sell the England international.

Romano’s update on Bellingham comes after he reported in The Guardian that Liverpool are set to sign central defender Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig for €35 million (£30.52 million) and are close to agreeing a five-year deal with the 21-year-old.

Blow for Liverpool?

Bellingham is a rising star in European football and could be part of the England squad for the European Championship this summer.

The teenager is a regular in the Bundesliga and has impressed for Dortmund in the Champions League as well.

Liverpool could do with freshening up their squad, and a complete midfielder such as Bellingham would be a brilliant signing for the Reds, not just for now, but in the long run as well.

According to WhoScored, Bellingham has made 17 starts and nine substitute appearances in the Bundesliga and made eight starts and two substitute appearances in the Champions League for Dortmund this season.
