Jurgen Klopp suggests Dominic Solanke to Rangers isn’t close so should they target Chelsea’s Tammy Abraham instead of the Liverpool striker?

Dominic Solanke looks likely to leave Liverpool on loan this month, according to the Daily Mail, but despite being linked to Rangers on several occasions, manager Jurgen Klopp appears to have dismissed the possibility.
Gers have strong connections with Anfield after former Reds captain Steven Gerrard took over as boss and they have already loaned Ovie Ejaria and Ryan Kent from the Merseyside club this summer, as well as signing Jon Flanagan on a permanent basis.
Yet when asked if Solanke would be making the switch to Ibrox as well, Klopp told the Liverpool Echo: “It’s the first time I’ve heard about it now. So that says it’s not close to happening.”
Other options
The same report from the Mail also says that Chelsea youngster Tammy Abraham is set for another temporary spell away from Stamford Bridge, so perhaps the 20-year-old would represent a good alternative for Gerrard?
After all, having impressed in the Championship with Bristol City in 2016/17, Abraham was given his chance in the Premier League by Swansea City last season.

However, another move to a top flight English side can no longer happen this month with their window having closed on August 9 and instead of dropping back down to the second tier, the Scottish Premiership may appeal more to the striker.
As an England international, Abraham would also have the opportunity to work under one of his country’s true greats in Gerrard, while the Rangers chief could bolster his currently limited options upfront.
