Wolverhampton Wanderers are interested in signing Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Premier League rivals Liverpool in the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror.

As reported by The Mirror, Wolves completed the signing of defender Ki-Jana Hoever from Liverpool on Saturday.

The Wanderers have now set their sights on another Liverpool player, Oxlade-Chamberlain, who could fall down the pecking order at Anfield following the arrival of Thiago Ancantara from Bayern Munich, according to the report.

Liverpool spell

Oxlade-Chamberlain has been on the books of Liverpool since the summer of 2017 when he joined from Premier League rivals Arsenal for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £40 million.

The England international midfielder has had injury problems during his spell at Anfield so far and has not always been a regular in the starting lineup.

Last season, the 27-year-old made 17 starts in the Premier League and three starts in the Champions League, while in 2018-19, he played just 19 minutes in the league, according to WhoScored.

During the 2017-18 campaign, the England international made 14 starts and 18 substitute appearances in the league, and played 320 minutes in the Champions League, according to WhoScored.
