The Barcelona ace is reportedly keen on joining Liverpool.
Ousmane Dembele is keen to join Liverpool this summer, with Barcelona keen to sell, according to an exclusive report from Teamtalk, and the Frenchman could be an absolutely sensational signing for the Reds, although they need to be wary.
The 22-year-old joined Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017, for an initial fee of £96.8 million that could eventually rise to £135.5 million according to BBC Sport, but he has struggled to establish himself at the Camp Nou.
The France international has managed just 18 goals and 17 assists in 65 appearances for Barcelona, and Liverpool might just be reluctant to pay the reported £96.8 million fee for the attacker, considering how he has struggled to impress in Catalonia.
It could be argued that Dembele has not been given enough opportunities to impress, however, being used mostly as a substitute.
He is a frightening talent, and he showed at Dortmund, where he was starting regularly, what he is truly capable of.
In his final season in Germany he racked up an incredible 10 goals and 22 assists in 50 appearances.
Dembele can play anywhere along the front-line, and would add genuine competition for Liverpool’s current front three.
The Frenchman possesses blistering pace, and he plays with a certain kind of directness that would see him slot perfectly into Jurgen Klopp’s high-octane setup at Anfield.
The Barcelona man is at an age where he will only get better, and Klopp would surely relish the prospect of working with, and improving, the pacey winger.
Liverpool seem to be on the verge of achieving something special, and should they get Dembele, they might just be unbeatable next season, in spite of his recent struggles with Barcelona.
