Brentford re-signed Moses Odubajo last summer after a trial with Celtic.
Celtic endured something of a frustrating transfer window last summer, but it doesn’t look like stopping them from winning the Scottish Premiership again.
One player Brendan Rodgers had a look at last summer as Moses Odubajo, following the expiration of his contract at Hull City.
The 25-year-old joined Celtic on trial in an effort to win a contract, but ultimately failed as the Bhoys chose to move on, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
Odubajo had spent two years out through injury, and made his comeback by re-joining former club Brentford after his Celtic trial failed to result in a contract.
So, how has he been faring back in the Championship? On an appearance basis, Odubajo has made 21 appearances, 15 of which have been starts for the Bees.
Whilst Odubajo played as a right back for Hull – and would surely have been seen as that for Celtic given their issues in that area – he has shown his versatility this season.
Odubajo played as a left wing back against Swansea on Sunday, whilst he has also played at right wing back and even left back, really kicking on under Thomas Frank.
Odubajo is beginning to get back to his best now, and will surely have his one-year deal at Griffin Park extended by another year after showing renewed promise back in West London.
Given his versatility in areas where Celtic aren’t exactly blessed, Odubajo could have been a smart signing for the Bhoys on a free transfer, but instead he’s getting his career back on track with Brentford.
