Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur are showing interest in Mehdi Taremi, a striker Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal also want to sign.
Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported on Twitter that Tottenham Hotspur want to sign FC Porto striker Mehdi Taremi, who is on the radar of Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal as well.
Di Marzio has claimed that Tottenham are ready to make a bid of €24 million (£20.76 million) for Taremi and have made contact with FC Porto over a potential deal.
FC Porto are willing to sell the 31-year-old Iran international striker, but the Portuguese giants are looking for €30 million (£25.95 million).
Tottenham’s bitter North London rivals Arsenal have also been linked with Taremi.
O Jogo reported in July that Arsenal are interested in the striker and have asked for information on the availability of the Iran international.
Tottenham Hotspur need Mehdi Taremi more than Arsenal
In our view, Tottenham Hotspur need FC Porto and Iran international striker Mehdi Taremi more than Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Yes, Gabriel Jesus is injured now, but it is a short-term problem.

The Brazil international striker will be back in action soon.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta also has Eddie Nketiah and Folarin Balogun at his disposal at the moment to play upfront.
Spurs could lose their star striker Harry Kane in the summer transfer window.
The Daily Mail has reported that Bayern Munich are now trying to get a deal done with Spurs for the striker.
So, if Tottenham lose Kane, then they will have to bring in a suitable replacement.
Taremi would be a decent signing for Tottenham in the short term.
The FC Porto no. 9 scored 22 goals and gave seven assists in 31 Portuguese league starts last season.
The striker also scored five goals and provided two assists in the UEFA Champions League last season.
Back in 2021-22, Taremi scored 20 goals and gave 12 assists in 27 league starts, while in 2020-21, he scored 16 goals and provided 11 assists in 26 league starts for Porto
