After another reported rejection, who should Everton turn to now?

Louis Van Gaal is the latest to rule himself out of the Everton running, what next for the Toffees?

Everton’s search for a new manager still rumbles on as Louis Van Gaal became the latest man to rule himself out of the running according to the Sun.

Sam Allardyce has also said he won’t be taking the job while Sean Dyche insists he will remain at Burnley. As it stands, Marco Silva could be the only man left in the running, but there’s every chance he could turn the job down and remain at Watford which would leave Everton in a bit of a mess.

Marco Silva is now odds on to take over at Goodison but no official approach has been made yet.

There aren’t many more options beyond Silva who could really make an impact at Goodison Park. Ralf Ragnick has emerged as second favourite for the job with Sky Bet.

He’s been working as Technical Director at Red Bull Leipzig for the last 18 months having previously guided them to promotion. He’s also managed VFB Stuttgart, 1899 Hoffenheim and Schalke 04.

Hebei China Fortune manager Manuel Pellegrini is also someone Everton could perhaps turn their attention to. He won the Premier League and two League Cups with Manchester City so his experience and big name calibre fits the bill. Guus Hiddink has also been linked (The Mirror) but he is the favourite to take the Australia national team job.

Former Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini is currently at Hebei China Fortune but has also been linked with a return to England.

That leaves current Caretaker manager David Unsworth who hasn’t hidden the fact that he would like the job permanently. Results have slowly picked up for him and should the search continue to rumble on then Everton may stick with him until the end of the season.

Silva is probably the best suited out of the remaining realistic candidates but as it stands, the two clubs aren’t close to any kind of agreement.
