The Arsenal winger has really struggled this season.

Arsenal were soundly beaten by Tottenham in their Carabao Cup quarter-final clash last night, and one payer in particular looked totally off the pace.
Alex Iwobi endured a torrid night against Spurs, and the question has to be asked, how on earth is he anywhere near Unai Emery’s starting XI?
The 22-year-old obviously has a lot of talent, but he has consistently failed to deliver over the past couple of years.
Iwobi usually plays in the wide left role that was vacated by Alexis Sanchez in January, but his final product is terrible, and he doesn’t really contribute to the aggressive press the Emery obviously wants to employ.
The Nigerian was tipped to really blow up this season, under the tutelage of a more tactically minded manager, but that has so far failed to materialise.
He never seems to play with any kind of direction or intent. His passing is poor, and he seems to turn over possession way too much.

Many at Arsenal have high hopes of the 21-capped Nigeria international, but he obviously has a long way to go, if he is to fulfil his undoubted potential.
Iwobi must focus on his final product, rather than trying to thrill fans with fancy step overs and jinking runs.
There is definitely a player in there somewhere, but a lot of work must be done on the training ground before he shows what he is capable of.
And until then, he shouldn’t be anywhere near Arsenal’s starting XI.
