Pierre-Michel Lasogga scored the opener for Leeds United as they eventually went on to draw 2-2 with Derby County in the Championship.
Lasogga has netted in every one of the three matches since Paul Heckingbottom was named manager and now has five strikes in six games in the second tier of English football.
Since the start of the season, when the striker joined on loan from Hamburger, the 26-year-old has 10 goals in 21 league outings; 16 of which were starts.
Lasogga has come in for criticism on many occasions this term but is that the sort of form that suggests the German is genuinely starting to fill the void left by Chris Wood?
Wood was the top-scorer in the division in 2016/17 with 27 in 44, a run of form which helped Leeds to seventh and saw the New Zealand international earn a £15m (BBC) move to Premier League outfit Burnley.
The Clarets forward averaged a goal every 1.6 matches for the Whites last campaign and while Lasogga’s goal every 2.1 games isn’t quite at that level, there are some very good signs for the Yorkshire club.
