Celtic should be looking to Liverpool’s Harry Wilson again this summer.

Harry Wilson of Hull City reacts during the Sky Bet Championship match between Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday at KCOM Stadium on April 14, 2018 in Hull, England.

Celtic will be in the market for new signings this summer even if they do win a second straight domestic treble, and manager Brendan Rodgers has plenty to think about.

Interest is expected in key duo Kieran Tierney and Moussa Dembele, whilst he will also have to consider the next steps after Patrick Roberts returns to Manchester City.

The 21-year-old winger has been on loan with Celtic for two and a half years, but will finally return to the Etihad Stadium this summer, and whilst he has been injured for a chunk of this season, he will still need replacing.

Another right-sided winger who can cut in on his left foot may be on Rodgers’ radar as a result, and a raid on former club Liverpool would make perfect sense.

Last summer, ESPN reported that Celtic wanted to sign winger Harry Wilson, and whilst no deal materialised, the Welshman must still be on Rodgers’ radar after a stunning loan spell with Hull City.

Wilson has hit seven goals and three assists in just 12 games, has fired the Tigers to Championship safety, and will return to Liverpool with little chance of first-team football given the presence of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah.

At 21, Wilson needs to be playing, and reuniting with Rodgers at Celtic as Roberts’ replacement makes a ton of sense, whether on loan or on a permanent basis this summer.

With incredible stats in the Championship, Celtic could give Wilson a step up with European football, and in terms of a Roberts replacement, the Welsh international may just be what Celtic are looking for – a year on from their initial interest.
