Some Tottenham fans on social media aren’t best pleased after hearing Joel Matip and Jordan Henderson are set to be available for Liverpool’s game against Spurs this week.
As you can imagine, Tottenham fans were hoping to face a weakened Liverpool team as they host the defending champions, but it seems as though the Reds will have two of their key players back for this one.
We’re sure that no fans ever want to see another footballer seriously hurt, but we can sympathise with Spurs supporters here.
Liverpool at home is up there with the toughest fixtures on the calendar in the Premier League, and even though Spurs will see it as a winnable game after Jurgen Klopp’s side’s poor run of form, their task will be harder if Henderson and Matip are on the pitch.
Of course, this doesn’t necessarily condemn Spurs to a loss, until the final whistle goes there is a game to win, but it seems as though the fanbase now aren’t as confident as they once were.
Some fans believe this is just indicative of Tottenham’s luck this season, claiming that they’re not surprised by this news, while others said that this will hand Liverpool the initiative in the game.
Whether or not Matip and Henderson prove to be difference makers against Tottenham remains to be seen, but it fair to say that Spurs fans aren’t pleased with the news that they’re fit.
