Adrien Rabiot is a reported target for Newcastle United and Tottenham, and the Juventus midfielder is making himself quite an attractive option for the clubs in January following his latest goal.

The French maestro has been one of the few bright sparks for Juventus this campaign in what has been a year to forget for the Serie A giants, with the Turin-based side out of the UEFA Champions League and drifting well away in the race for the Scudetto, wit Napoli leading the charge by a country mile.

Yet there’s still some gas in the tank for Juventus as this weekend Massimilano Allegri’s side recorded arguably their best result of the season so far in a 2-0 win in the Derby d’Italia against Inter Milan, with Rabiot scoring the opening goal for the Bianconeri.

Hailed as ‘breathtaking’ by journalist and pundit Mina Rzouki, the 27-year-old midfielder capped off a fantastic counter-attack with a brilliantly-placed finish to secure Juventus the three points and to bring Rabiot’s goal tally for the season to five in all competitions, just one off the Frenchman’s best-ever record.

With CalcioMerceto recently reporting that both Newcastle and Tottenham are interested in Rabiot, there’s a good chance that the two Premier League sides could hedge their bets to sign the Juventus star in January, especially with the former PSG star’s contract expiring in the summer.

Rabiot has been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time, with the Frenchman even coming close last summer to signing for Manchester United before the move ultimately collapsed. Yet whilst that deal was heavily ridiculed by supporters at the time, there’s a different feeling this time around.

The midfielder has taken his game to a level rarely seen at Juventus, with Rabiot’s form keeping the Old Lady afloat in Serie A and inspiring Allegri’s side to important wins. And for Newcastle and Tottenham, signing the Frenchman would actually be a good move given his impressive record this campaign.
