West Ham United should look at moving Adrian on and make an offer for Sam Johnstone.
The 31-year-old goalkeeper, who earns £50,000 per week as salary according to Spotrac.com, joined West Ham after leaving Betis in 2013.
The Spaniard has also suggested that he is waiting to hear from new manager Manuel Pellegrini before making a decision on his future.
Estadio Deportivo quotes Adrian as saying: “I’m waiting to hear Pellegrini’s ideas, and from there I will make a decision.”
Adrian added about Betis: “Of course I am aware of all the rumours, but it is true that Betis still have their goalkeeper.
“I have to deal with my club and Betis with their goalkeepers. It’s something that attracts you, going home is always going to be there. It is clear that if the time comes we would sit down and talk about it.”
Time to move Adrian on?
Adrian seems to be undecided over his future, and maybe time has come for West Ham to move him on.
The 31-year-old is a good goalkeeper, but the Spaniard has made mistakes from time to time.
True, Adrian is only 31 years of age, but the Hammers should start looking for a long-term replacement.
Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone could be a decent option. The 25-year-old goalkeeper is back at his parent club after spending the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Aston Villa in the Championship.
The 25-year-old was arguably the best goalkeeper in the Championship this past season, and his performances were very encouraging.
West Ham would have to pay a transfer fee to United, but with Joe Hart having gone back to Manchester City after his loan spell at the London Stadium, the Hammers do need a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.
