West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian has told the club’s official website that their fighting spirit meant they deserved all three points against Crystal Palace.

The Hammers traveled to Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon looking to end their losing streak in the Premier League.

They managed to do just that as a goal from Manuel Lanzini saw them to a much-needed 1-0 victory.

They had to fight for all three points, though, after an Aaron Cresswell red card in the 75th minute meant they had to play the last 15 minutes of the game with ten men.

And Adrian was delighted to see that fight saying he believes they deserved all three points.

“I think we fought until the end with one player less, which was very difficult because they pushed and their fans pushed a lot,” he told the club’s official website

“We defended so well until the last minute and finally we got the win and it’s a massive three points for us. I think we deserved the win.”

The Spanish goalkeeper was also delighted to keep a clean sheet in the game, just his second of the campaign.

His last one came in West Ham’s only other win of the season, a 1-0 defeat of Bournemouth at the London Stadium.

It was a hard-earned shutout for him, with one stop in the dying minutes of the game particularly eye-catching.

His task was made easier by a resolute West Ham defence, which found themselves playing in a new 3-5-2 formation in the game that seemed to work wonders for them.

“It’s very important to keep a clean sheet because if you score one goal like we did today, you win three points,” he added.

“Today is a change of our mind. We need to start winning games and getting points because we want to climb the table. This system worked for us.”
