Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react after AS revealed that the Reds are interested in signing Sevilla shot-stopper Alfonso Pastor, along with Real Madrid.

The report from the Spanish news outlet also states that the glovesman’s contract expires in June, so there’s a chance that Liverpool or Real Madrid could land him for a cut-price fee should he fail to renew.

Pastor is a highly-rated young goalkeeper who recently make his debut in the Champions League defeat to Chelsea, in which Olivier Giroud netted all four goals.

However, that shouldn’t stain the 20-year-old’s growing reputation.

For a duo of Real Madrid and Liverpool’s stature to be eyeing you up, you’ve got to have something special – that goes without saying.

Interestingly, if Liverpool do sign Pastor, where does this leave Adrian?

The Spaniard has recently lost his role as Alisson Becker’s deputy to academy glovesman Caoimhin Kelleher, who has kept back-to-back clean sheets against Ajax and Wolves.

The Irishman has oozed calmness and has an assured nature about him.

Currently, Adrian is third choice, so if Pastor arrives – and with another prospect in Marcelo Pitaluga coming through – the ex-West Ham man’s future at Anfield looks very bleak.

Let’s see how the Liverpool fans on Twitter reacted to the news…
