Adrian comments on his relationship with West Ham fans

Adrian has certainly made the most of his chance since he returned to the West Ham United team.

Adrian has told West Ham’s official website that he really appreciates it every time the supporters sing his name, and suggested that he feels that he has a special relationship with the fans.

The 30-year-old began the season as Joe Hart’s understudy at the London Stadium, only making appearances in the Carabao Cup before Slaven Bilic was replaced by David Moyes.

He returned to the team for the trip to Manchester City, and has since made the most of the opportunity. The 3-0 win over Stoke on Saturday has meant that the Spaniard has now kept three clean sheets in a row, helping the Hammers to seven points out of nine which has lifted them out of the Premier League relegation zone.

The decision to bring him back into the team has certainly been a popular one, and Adrian insisted that the appreciation that has come from the fans towards him is most definitely mutual.

“I really appreciate it, every time I hear my name from the fans. I have a special relationship with them from my beginning at West Ham,” he told the club’s official website.

“This is a good run. I try to help the team with my saves. I was not very busy because everybody defended well, so this clean sheet is for everyone.”

While Hart was, in reality, giving Moyes little reason to believe that he should keep faith with him, the decision to bring Adrian back into the team can still be reflected upon as a brilliant move from the Irons boss.

The Hammers now look full of confidence, and will be hoping to move themselves even further away from the bottom three when they take on Newcastle at home next Saturday – while they will also be hoping to book their place in the semi-final of the League Cup when they face Arsenal on Tuesday.
