Adrian Bevington has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to Nottingham Forest appointing Aitor Karanka as their new manager.

Forest have appointed former Middlesbrough boss Aitor Karanka as their new manager.

The Spaniard has been given a two-and-a-half-year contract by the Reds, who have been on the hunt for a new manager since the departure of Mark Warburton on New Year’s Eve.

Karanka had been without a managerial job since since March 2017 following his departure from Middlesbrough.

The former Real Madrid defender was a huge success during his time at the Riverside Stadium, as he guided Boro to the Premier League from the Championship.

Forest are struggling in the Championship at the moment and are unlikely to finish in the top six of the table this season.

The Reds, though, will hope that Karanka, who knows the Championship inside out, gets the team going and finish in a respectable position in the table.

Bevington knows Forest well, having been an advisor to former club owner Fawaz Al Hasawi, and he has backed the Reds’ decision to appoint Karanka as their new manager.
