Some Crystal Palace fans are already waving goodbye to James McCarthy after the midfielder was linked with Celtic, Aston Villa and Burnley.
Teamtalk claims that Celtic are ready to offer a contract to McCarthy in January, with a view to him joining them at the end of his deal next summer.
The website adds that the Irishman also has interest from Aston Villa and Burnley – though only clubs from outside of English football can approach him without the consent of Crystal Palace until the close of the campaign.
McCarthy was born and raised in Glasgow and is said to be a Celtic supporter.

But, according to Teamtalk, he may have to accept a wage cut to join the Bhoys, whose proposal would be a long-term one.
And while a number of Crystal Palace fans would welcome a renewal, the following, it seems, are at best indifferent about the 29-year-old’s potential exit.
McCarthy arrived at Crystal Palace from Everton for around £3 million last summer.
He had been on Celtic’s books as a kid but broke through at Hamilton Academical, alongside his fellow Palace midfielder James McArthur, before heading south with Wigan Athletic.
