Tottenham’s in-form striker says he is in his best form for years.

Emmanuel Adebayor fired a goal in each half to fire Tottenham to a crushing 4-0 win at Newcastle.

His recent form simply makes Andre Villas-Boas’ decision to exile him early on in the season all the more bizarre.

Speaking after the game, Adebayor told SkySports he wanted to enjoy his good moment of form, and believes it to be better than even his spell while on loan at Spurs two seasons ago.

“The last time I was scoring like this I was at Arsenal.

“The manager believes in me, so the most important thing is to keep enjoying my football, (and) keep doing my thing onth pitch.

“That’s what I’m doing at the moment and its working quite well. Keep going and let me see what I can achieve.”

Right now it appears the sky is the limit for the Togolese striker, in fact over the past 10 Premier League game weeks, no striker has scored more:

Adebayor even chipped in defensively against Newcastle, making four effective clearances, a far cry from the lethargic displays he put in this time last year.

His much-discussed high wages were probably the only thing keeping him at Spurs amid their efforts to sell him on last summer, but right now he is earning every penny.
