Tim Sherwood has said on Sky Sports News (1:42pm, October 16, 2021) that Real Madrid would sign reported Tottenham Hotspur target Adama Traore if they saw just the highlights.

Sherwood worked with Traore at Aston Villa.

The former Tottenham and Villa manager has said that he likes the winger.

However, the Sky Sports pundit thinks that the Wolves winger needs to develop his game even further and is not the finished article yet.

The Athletic reported earlier this month that Tottenham could reignite their summer interest in Traore when the transfer window opens in January.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport.

Tim Sherwood’s verdict

Sherwood said about Traore on Sky Sports News (1:42pm, October 16, 2021): “People are going to be convinced.

“They see some highlights of Adama, he gets you off your seat, he excites the fans, and someone could take him.

“You put a showreel of Adama Traore, and Real Madrid would take him.

“When you look at the full games and what he has contributed… I like him, I think he still needs to develop. I have said it time and time again – the boy has not cracked it.

Where does Adama Traore need to improve?

Traore is a very good winger who is quite unique in many ways.

Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola are among the managers who have gone on record to praise the former Barcelona winger.

The 25-year-old is strong, quick, can dribble, and can deliver wonderful crosses.

The main problem with Traore is that he does not have the end product.

Well, not yet anyway.

Adama Traore Stats

The former Middlesbrough winger has scored only seven goals in 148 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.

The Wolves no. 37 scored only two goals and gave just two assists in the league last season.

So far this season, Traore has not scored or provided an assist in eight Premier League appearances.

The winger has created only two big chances.

Of the 16 shots Traore has taken so far this season, only four have been on target.

That is simply not good enough.

In our view, Traore needs to improve on his finishing and end product.

However, we must remember that Traore is still only 25.

There is certainly time for the winger to improve.

At the right price, the winger would be a good signing for Tottenham in the January transfer window.

After all, Traore’s best years are ahead of him.
