Leeds United take on Middlesbrough in the Championship on Friday night and one decision Paul Heckingbottom has to make for the fixture is who plays at left-back.

After his Derby County horror-show Belgian defender Laurens De Bock was dropped for the win against Brentford at the weekend, with Vurnon Anita brought in to take his place.

The versatile Dutchman put in a solid performance in the win and Leeds boss Heckingbottom has a choice to make for the Boro game, especially with the news of an FA ruling today.

The red card given to Boro winger Adama Traore in the weekend’s 3-3 draw with Sunderland has been overturned and the Spanish star, one of the most dangerous wide-men in the Championship, will play against Leeds.

Heckingbottom must surely stick with Anita. Whilst not a natural left-back, he is a natural defender. He is strong in the tackle and will be high on confidence following his performance against Brentford.

De Bock on the other hand will be fragile in confidence after his torrid Derby performance and subsequent criticism.

It would simply not be fair to put him in against Adama, who would look to utilise his low spirits by putting him to the sword at the Riverside Stadium.

Anita must be given the task of keeping Traore at bay.
