Newcastle United were said to be interested in Adam Webster, before he made the move to Brighton & Hove Albion.

The Bristol Post suggested that Newcastle were interested in signing the £25 million centre-back (Guardian), when he was at Bristol City.
Webster ended up moving to Brighton, who are Newcastle’s opponents this weekend.
And the technically adept centre-back admits that he thinks St. James’ Park is a very tricky place to play at.
“It’s a tough place to go and with 50,000 Geordies screaming at us, we know it won’t be easy,” Webster said.
“But we did it against City, so we can go anywhere and do that.
“We did it against the champions and all stood up to it so there is no reason why not.”

Webster seems likely to start for Brighton against Newcastle, when he will have the opportunity to show Steve Bruce’s side exactly what they missed out on.
Newcastle are under pressure to get the three points on Saturday, after what has been a mixed start to the season.
The Magpies have beaten Tottenham Hotspur, but have only taken four points from five games and currently sit in the relegation zone.
If Newcastle are to lose to Brighton then the pressure will only build on Bruce, who is already having to fight to win over the doubters at St. James’ Park.
