Dean Smith is said to want to bring Tyrone Mings and Adam Webster to Aston Villa this summer.

If Aston Villa land Adam Webster and Tyrone Mings next season, then they could have two of the defensive stars of the Championship in their squad.

Mings needs no introduction at Villa after spending last season on loan with Dean Smith’s side.

The powerhouse defender, who Villa are trying to sign permanently from Bournemouth according to Sky Sports, was arguably the best centre-back in the Championship after arriving in January, as the claret and blues earned promotion.

Webster could be his ideal partner at the back, as he was also very consistent in the second tier.

Villa are said to be trying to sign the 24-year-old from Bristol City by The Sun.

If Webster does arrive at Villa Park then his skill set should compliment Mings perfectly.

Webster is so comfortable in possession that he never looks rushed, but he still remains a solid defender.

Webster took Bristol City’s Player of the Year award last season.

And if Smith was to add both Webster and Mings he would have two players in brilliant form last season to select.
