Adam Underwood comments on Leeds United attracting players

Leeds United signed a number of players for their Under-23 team in the summer transfer window.

Leeds United Academy Manager Adam Underwood has told the club’s official website that the Whites are now in a position to attract players from all around the world.

The West Yorkshire outfit have been quite active in the summer transfer window and have signed a number of players for the Under-23 team.

Midfielder Alejandro Machuca, striker Adrian Balboa, central defender Oriol Rey, striker Kun Temenuzhkov, right-back Bryce Hosannah, Hugo Diaz and Ousama Siddiki all have joined the Leeds Under-23 side this summer.

Leeds Academy Manager Underwood has expressed his delight at the signings the club made for the Academy in the summer, and has said that the Whites are now in a position to attract players from all over the world – comments which show just how far they have come.

“This has been a really productive summer for the club at every level and we are now in a position to attract players from across the world as well as having a keen focus on the UK and particularly Yorkshire,” Underwood told Leeds’s official website.

“We are excited to try and progress players to the first team and we hope to continue our tradition of producing young footballers for our first team.”

Leeds are one of the biggest clubs in the world and have a global fanbase. The Whites, though, have not played in the Premier League since 2004.

However, things are starting to improve now. After a few years of being also-rans in the Championship, the Whites are now one of the top contenders for the playoffs.

The West Yorkshire outfit narrowly failed to finish in the top six of the Championship in 2016-17, but they have made a good start to the season and could end up in the playoffs.
