Sheffield Wednesday star Adam Reach has told The Star that he and his teammates can challenge for the Championship playoffs this season.

Reach, who can operate as a left-back or as a left-winger, made the comments following Wednesday’s 1-1 draw with Leeds United at the Hillsborough Stadium.

The result in the Yorkshire derby means that the Owls are now just a point off the Championship playoffs.

The 25-year-old Reach, has been on the books of Wednesday since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Middlesbrough for a transfer fee reported by The Star to be worth £5 million, believes that Jos Luhukay’s side can challenge for the top six.

Reach told The Star: “I think we have shown we can challenge for the top six. Without a doubt.”
