Liverpool attacker is just a stand by for England and currently will not be heading to the World Cup.

As it stands Liverpool attacker Adam Lallana will not be heading to the World Cup with England.
After an injury hit season Lallana can have few complaints, and is fortunate enough to be named as a back-up, as one of a handful of standby players in case of injuries.
It’s a disappointment all round for a player who Liverpool signed for £25 million from Southampton shortly after World Cup 2014.

He was one of England’s better players at a doomed Euro 2016 and the Three Lions are poorer without his quality in the squad, even if injury and form meant it was not possible to include him this time around.
Yet while a personal blow to Lallana in the short-term, it may actually work out better for his Liverpool career.
He has managed only one Premier League start this season and a further 11 from the bench and he will benefit from getting back to pre-season early.

Going away with England and barely playing and starting pre-season late would be the worst of both worlds for Lallana, who is in danger of becoming Liverpool’s forgotten man.
Missing out could actually save his Reds career, by setting him up for a strong bounce back year next season if he returns early and is able to focus on building up his fitness.
