Adam Forshaw signed for Leeds United during the 2018 January transfer window.

Adam Forshaw has told the club’s official website how former Elland Road favourite Jonathan Woodgate explained how he was set to join a massive club moments before his 2018 switch to Leeds United.
“I’d actually been told by Jonathan Woodgate. He rang me when he knew I was coming. I was at Middlesbrough with him and he said, ‘You’re signing for an absolute whopper of a club’ and for him to say that, someone who has played for Real Madrid, is massive,” Forshaw explained.
The midfielder joined Leeds from Middlesbrough during the January 2018 transfer window for a reported £4.5 million fee.
Forshaw had come through the youth ranks at Everton and had gone on to play for Brentford, Wigan Athletic and Middlesbrough prior to moving to the Elland Road club.
Woodgate, a former centre-back who featured for Leeds while they were competing in the Champions League and at the top of the Premier League, evidently still holds the Yorkshire club close to his heart.

It has been a long struggle since the Whites’ relegation from the top-flight back in 2004, but under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa this term, they appear to be on the verge of ending their 15-year absence.
Leeds are in the race for automatic promotion and edge rivals Sheffield United with just four games remaining after a slender 1-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday at Elland Road.
Forshaw, 27, came off the bench for the final 13 minutes against the Owls, making his 26th Championship appearance of the campaign.
