Samu Saiz is unlikely to play for Leeds United again.

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa gives instructions too substitute Samu Saiz at Elland Road on October 27, 2018 in Leeds, England.

Adam Forshaw has claimed via Leeds Live that Leeds United haven’t missed the quality of Samu Saiz as of yet.

Saiz’s loan move from Leeds to Getafe was confirmed on December 17.

The Spanish playmaker had struggled in a big way under Marcelo Bielsa this season, and failed to score in 19 Championship appearances.

He didn’t look the same player who took the Championship by storm last season, and Bielsa’s side have won three of the four games since he left.

Saturday’s 2-0 defeat by Hull City was the only blemish in an otherwise stunning run of form, which includes two last-minute winners against Aston Villa and Blackburn Rovers.

And Forshaw, a £4.5 million signing last January [Daily Mail], told Leeds Live he doesn’t believe that the Whites are feeling the effects of his absence.

“To be honest I don’t think we’ve missed him so far since he’s left. We’ve won three games since he announced he was leaving. That’s my personal [opinion],” he said.

“I think everyone who’s in the squad now buys into what we’re doing and works really hard for the team and it’s not about any individuals. I’ll be honest.

“I don’t really know what to say to that to be honest. He’s a good player, but we’re a team and we all work together and that’s that really.”

Saiz was a quality footballer who simply lost his way, but Bielsa and Director of Football Victor Orta must replace him nonetheless.

Leeds remain top of the Championship, but Saturday’s defeat was a missed opportunity to move six points clear of Norwich City, who also lost.

United’s cushion in the automatic promotion spots is now only five points.
