Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has been speaking about working under new manager Marcelo Bielsa.

Speaking to Leeds’ official website, Forshaw said he is enjoying the start so far and is well aware of the Argentine’s revered reputation.

Forshaw says he is keen to learn and can’t wait for the season to get started.

He said “I can’t wait to play under him, with someone of that calibre and experience, I think us as players should be a sponge to him, take all of the information on board and really commit to what he wants to teach us, because I’m sure it will pay off and work for us.

“If you can’t get excited about an appointment like that, I don’t know when you will because his CV speaks for itself with what he has done and it is really exciting times for the club.”

Forshaw signed for Leeds from Middlesbrough for £4.5 million in January, the highest fee Leeds have paid for a player in a decade.

Leeds fans are hoping this is a fee which will be eclipsed this summer if the board back new boss Bielsa in the transfer market.

Rumours are circulating over potential deals but Leeds are yet to complete any deals so far.

Forshaw is one of the players who Leeds will consider for the captaincy, although there are other strong contenders.

Armband or not, Forshaw is a leader who the Whites will hope will be a regular over the course of the season.
