Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Forshaw has issued something of a battle cry following the club’s poor start to the season.

After a promising first few games, Middlesbrough currently find themselves down in 16th place in the Premier League table with just one win from their first seven games.
Despite the quality they possess within their squad they cannot seem to string together a run of victories, despite a number of good performances. As reported by Gazette Live, Boro midfielder Adam Forshaw has issued something of a rallying cry ahead of the Teessiders’ clash with Watford at the weekend.
The 25-year-old has been in scintillating form over the last few weeks, and the midfielder believes now is the time they need to kick it up a notch and really start to turn these performances into actual points on the board.
“We’re always learning. For some of us, it’s our first time in the Premier League and we’re up against better quality,” Forshaw said.

“But we can take a lot of positives from the games. I just think we need to be confident and believe that we deserve to be in the Premier League.”
“Maybe we have to let the shackles off a little bit, puff our chests out and really make it clear that we know we deserve to be here.

“We’ve got the quality, we’ve got a great set of lads, and everything is in place for us to kick on. Maybe we need to be a bit more ruthless and a bit more confident in ourselves.”
Confidence is key in a division as tough as the Premier League, and one victory could be all it takes for the club to go on a long run that sees them stretch away from the danger zone. Either way, Aitor Karanka’s men have a vital run of fixtures coming up in the next few weeks that will provide a better indication of what this Middlesbrough team can achieve this season.
