Adam Forshaw is ‘definitely’ ahead of schedule over returning for Leeds United.

Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has told LUTV that he is “definitely” ahead of schedule with regards to his comeback.
The former Middlesbrough midfielder was ruled out for six weeks shortly before Leeds’ Championship opener with Stoke City after damaging ankle ligaments.
The 26-year-old, who cost the Whites around £4.5 million in January, should now only be around three weeks away in theory, if the original prognosis was accurate.
However, Forshaw, who has started running outdoors again, says he isn’t “too far off” a full recovery after revealing that he is rapidly making progress.
He told LUTV: “I haven’t got a day [when he’ll be back]. We play it by ear everyday. But I don’t think I’m too far off now to be honest. I’m just making strides forward.
“I don’t want to jinx anything too much but I’m definitely ahead of schedule. The surgeon is really pleased and the scar has healed really well. I’m pushing myself everyday and want to be back as soon as possible.”
It’s an exciting update by Forshaw. Leeds have won four of their first five games without him this season – the other being Tuesday’s 2-2 draw at Swansea City – but the midfielder will definitely add another dimension to Marcelo Bielsa’s side when he returns.
He will be competing with the likes of Kalvin Phillips, Lewis Baker and the in-form Mateusz Klich, but Forshaw has the talent to certainly ask questions of Bielsa immediately.
