Heckingbottom was recently appointed the Leeds head coach following the departure of Thomas Christiansen from Elland Road.
Forshaw joined the Whites from Championship rivals Middlesbrough in the January transfer window for a fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £4.5 million.
The 26-year-old midfielder told Leeds’s official website: “The gaffer seems like a really nice guy, he really wants to coach you and improve you as a player and if you don’t want to take that on board, you shouldn’t really be playing the game.
“There is a chance for us all to learn and get better and hopefully we can begin to push up the table again.”
Encouraging comments
The aforementioned comments from Forshaw about Heckingbottom are quite encouraging, and Leeds fans should be optimistic about a top-six finish in the Championship despite the team’s latest defeat.
The Whites suffered a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Sheffield United away from home at Bramall Lane in the league on Saturday afternoon.
The loss has dented Leeds’s chances of clinching a playoff spot, but Heckingbottom is a good manager, and Forshaw’s comments suggest that the players could become better and learn from him.
