Some Manchester City fans on Twitter are raving about Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka.
Pep Guardiola’s side recorded their 18th victory in a row today after beating the Gunners 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium this evening.
It could and probably should’ve been a lot more convincing for the hosts, who took the lead through Raheem Sterling after two minutes but Arsenal, to their credit, grew into the game.
But going forward, it was always going to be difficult to stifle this City XI and yet the 19-year-old gem was arguably the best attacking player for Mikel Arteta’s side on the day.
In fact, Saka, who earns £30,000 per week in North London, has probably been Arsenal’s best forward player this season overall.
And even some City fans were left drooling over the teenager’s quality. Here’s how they reacted:
Overall it wasn’t a disastrous day for Arsenal.
Yes, they fell behind after two minutes but there isn’t a Gunners fan out there who wouldn’t have taken defeat by that scoreline at that point, considering Guardiola’s troops had won their last 17 games.
Arteta’s priority this season is the Euopa League because even before this result, finishing in the top four was an enormous ask and, frankly, an unrealistic one.
They face Benfica in the second leg of their last-32 contest in that competition on Thursday and if Saka is as up for that game as he was today, the Portuguese defence will be worried.
