Dejan Kulusevski continued to justify his January transfer from Juventus on Saturday as the forward helped Tottenham Hotspur beat Leeds United, thrilling some fans on social media.

Fabio Paratici returned to raid the Bianconeri in the mid-season market to bolster Antonio Conte’s attacking options. Kulusevski had been out of favour as a regular starter in Turin, with just five Serie A starts over his 20 outings. But he has hit the ground running at Spurs.

Juventus agreed to let Kulusevski join Tottenham on an initial 18-month loan deal with the option to buy. Spurs paid the Old Lady €3m (£2.5m) for the rest of the current season and will spend a further €7m (£6m) next term. Their option to buy stands at €35m (£29.5m).

Conte gave Kulusevski his third Premier League start as Tottenham travelled to face Leeds on Saturday. And it took the 21-year-old just 15-minutes to score his second English top-flight goal, doubling their lead after Matt Doherty broke the deadlock five-minutes earlier.

Kulusevski tormented Junior Firpo to worm his way into the Whites’ box after a one-two with Doherty. Once inside the area, the Sweden forward drilled home low at Illan Meslier’s near post. Harry Kane then stretched the score to 3-0 in Spurs’ favour in the 27th-minute.

Tottenham fans in awe of ‘strong, skilful’ Dejan Kulusevski

Kulusevski has now scored two Premier League goals since joining Tottenham in a loan-to-buy transfer from Juventus. The 20-cap dynamo struck his first in Spurs’ 3-2 win away to Manchester City. He also provided his sole assist to date at the Etihad Stadium.
