Aston Villa will face off against Premier League giants Chelsea in the next round of the League Cup.
The Villains posted on their official club website that their next fixture in the League Cup will be against Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea side. The west London side are the reigning UEFA Champions League holders.
Moreover, Chelsea are one of the favourites to win the Premier League, as well as the League Cup, this season. The Blues demolished their club-record transfer fee to sign Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan.
Indeed, a trip to Stamford Bridge in the League Cup will be tough for Villa, who beat the Blues last season on the final day of the Premier League campaign.
And the Birmingham club themselves are in good form in the competition. Villa claimed a 6-0 win over League Two side Barrow AFC, with youngster Cameron Archer scoring a hat-trick on his first professional start.
Facing off against Chelsea in the League Cup will be another good test for Villa’s youngsters. Yet on social media, supporters were fuming with such a difficult draw.

With other Premier League sides being drawn against sides from the Championship and League One, Villa fans were mad that they will have to face the champions of Europe.
Here’s what some Villa fans had to say about drawing the Blues in the League Cup on Twitter…
