‘Actually class’: Everton fans love what Tom Davies did at half-time during 5-4 FA Cup win

Everton fans have taken to Twitter to react after an eight-second clip of Tom Davies coming out for the second half emerged on social media.

The footage shows Everton’s No.26 making his way out onto the Goodison Park pitch midway through the thrilling 5-4 FA Cup win over Tottenham.

Unlike his teammates, Davies can be seen touching the sign above the tunnel which displays the club’s badge.

The 22-year-old can also be seen patting the badge on his chest numerous times before he jogs out onto the pitch.

These small gestures are the type of thing football fans love to see their players do, a point reinforced by the responses of Everton fans below.

In addition to his passionate gestures, the Toffees academy graduate delivered a fine display against the north Londoners.

As WhoScored shows, Davies ran the game by having the most touches of any Everton player with 98, and also the most passes with 74.

Additionally, the midfielder embarked on three successful dribbles, and won four freekicks against Jose Mourinho’s side.

Davies also recorded two interceptions, three clearances and one tackle.

It was a very good performance, made even more impressive as he was up against Tanguy Ndombele and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.
